1979
Locauto was born in Milan: the historic icon of the elephant is designed by one of the founding members during a dinner at the Pizzeria Transatlantico.
1980
Locauto, as part of its core business of leasing and car financing, registers the first car: a Talbot Samba. The company's first headquarters are in Via Pisacane 26, in Milan.
1984
Locauto is among the first Italian companies to offer long-term rental services to corporate customers. The new company headquarters is in Via San Vittore 45, in Milan.
1987
Through a network of local entrepreneurs, Locauto founded the 'Locautine', satellite companies that bring long-term rental to the main Italian realities. The company crosses the milestone of 10,000 customers.
1993
Locauto definitively abandons leasing to focus on long-term rental, a rapidly expanding market.
1999
Locauto celebrates its twentieth year of activity: the birthday is celebrated with the group's first general convention in Paris.
2004
Locauto enters short-term rental and subsequently coines the Locauto Rent brand. At the end of the year there were 6 rental offices: Catania, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa, Pisa, Rome Termini and Venice.
2011
After only 8 years, Locauto Rent completes the coverage of the main Italian suppliers. The short-term rental turnover is growing rapidly.
2013
Locauto Rent becomes the Italian partner of the leading multinational rental company Enterprise Holdings, with a long-term agreement. At the end of the year the company moved to the Milan office in Via Gustavo Fara 39.
2015
After Enterprise Rent-a-Car, the brand portfolio is enriched with the international brands National and Alamo. The rental offices are expanded with a new look.
2016
With Elefast, Locauto is among the first companies in the world to launch smart digital rental. The company is Official Rent-a-Car of Inter and Rome. A new commercial office is opened in the capital.
2018
After completing the airport and railway network, Locauto develops the downtown offices and launches the van rental, Locauto Van.
