The Artisans of Turkey

When you travel to Turkey, make sure to sit down with one of these artisans and learn about their craft! When you think about Turkey, what comes across your mind? Hot air balloon rides, rich history, delicious delicacies, deverish dances and much more. But did you know that is also home to many skilled artisans who create gorgeous goods - textiles, jewellery, copper, carpets, ceramics and more. At Fifth Origins' our goal is to work with skilled artisan from different parts of the world and we found an opportunity to co-create with artisans from Buldan, Denizli for our new products. A skill passed from generation to generation, weaving is the main source of income for many families with both men and women working together, who will craft each Infinity Towel Wrap and reversible muslin cotton throw blanket. We love that these artisans have looms in their house, allowing them to weave and take care of other things at the same time. Over the last seven years I have had the opportunity to co-create with rural artisans from all over India, which has helped us bring you the best designed, natural, ethical products. But we constantly questions ourselves - what can we to do more, to be better? Shouldn't we keep seeking new ways to enrich our customers' lives? We think so.

Fifth Origins is now offering sustainable wellness products, aiming to protect our Earth and the natural environments in it. We're so excited to introduce the first member of our new wellness range: Ayurvedic Himalayan soaps. Most traditional soaps use synthetic, petroleum-based chemicals, which can strip our skin of its natural oils. They often come in plastic bottles, as well, contributing to the 300 million tons of plastic humans produce every year, much of which ends up in landfills. Liquid soap is particularly guilty of harming our environment: It requires five times more energy to produce than bar soap, and it uses up to 20 times more packaging. Our planet needs us to take immediate action to minimize our plastic waste. But still, we all need reliable soap to keep us clean and healthy every day -- especially during a global pandemic.

Fortunately, it's possible to pursue health and wellness while also showing kindness to our planet -- and we can start by investing in environmentally friendly soap products.
